Phishing Waves at KIT

Currently, the KIT is being targeted by a phishing wave, that is also being distributed using compromised KIT accounts.

The phishing mails seen so far being sent by compromised KIT computers, have a valid KIT email address as sender address, request to follow a link and have one of the following subject lines:

  • "Final Notification"
  • "Kontoüberprüfung"
  • "Karlsruhe Institute of Technology"
  • "endgültige Mitteilung"

We strongly advise you to ignore these emails.

In general, the staff of the SCC will never ask its customers for their password. If you receive a suspicious email or are unsure about the nature of it, please contact your ITB of your institution or the KIT-CERT (cert does-not-exist.kit edu) and provide the email using the instructions found at https://www.cert.kit.edu/p/mail-forward.
